Magical music happenings

Munir is one of my closest friends and writing collaborators.  His ideas are phenomenal and our collaborations always end up magical.  Here's how we cook and create.  Although this little video is candid (for I knew not we were recording), it is a bit funny and allows you to hear the sick beat  brewed by Allana!!!:

This crazed energy screaming from the track inspired a feeling of Panic...Rush....fear....etc

The feeling of paranoia......fight or flight.....like the last spaceship to heaven has arrived and everyone is running trying to catch it as the world as we know it burns into nothingness~~~~

RUN RUN RUN RUN and get free fast!
get your ticket while the world lasts!!!

and my sincere apologies to Queen Brickhouse BBQ Brisket

love you and excited about working with you!

Fishbone Changed My Life

Everyone has their influences.  Not everyone, however, has gasoline that ignites the fires of their passion.  Fishbone was the gasoline to the fire of my music.  It started when I was in high school.  I remember the first time I experienced Fishbone.  I think I heard them first: bold, unapologetic, musically catchy -- something I felt.  Then I saw them -- they all looked like me.  They were singing my language.  Since Jimi, I hadn't experienced African-Americans making music like this.  I never felt my soul, my voice, where I belonged, until Fishbone let me know that my voice had a home.  They lit the match.  Now I'm here.  Now I'm home.  They told me to come in.  And I've been home ever since...

Here's Angelo Moore (frontman from Fishbone) and me talking about him and I making music together:

Who I am

Inspired by her late, eccentric, gypsy father, Shine was exposed to his eclectic taste in music at a young age. Shine grew up listening to  the sounds of Muddy Waters, The Beatles, James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Fela Kuti and John Lee Hooker to name a few. Her father strongly encouraged his young daughter to pursue her dreams of being a rockstar, since his own dreams of being a musician were put on hold due to her motherʼs tragic suicide. As a child, Shine, recalls living the true life of a gypsy with her father; sleeping in cars, waking up on the sofas of complete strangers, and stealing food to eat. Years later, after the passing of her father, Shine used music as a way to escape the grim realities of her surroundings. Ultimately, she made a decision that would change her life forever: start a band. It would take many years and many bands before she found her own voice. She morphed to create heart stomping, earth shaking magic. Shine brings fire with her gritty, raspy vocals, fueled with a super-charged and emotional delivery, supported by tribalistic, electric pulsating, punksoul sound. She's known for possessing wild, shamanistic qualities on stage. “My music is about getting free,” Shine imparts, “I like to wake up shit inside of you and start a revolution.” When asked what music category one would likely find her in, she sighs as she takes a deep breath and blows out what she calls 'medicine smoke'. "I transcend all boxes and cages...I rap if I want to...I rock n roll if I want to...I get Punk if I want to...I am free Wolf and I don't limit myself or my Art to any label. You shouldn't either."
